Joint ESCAS-CESS conference at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Tashkent 2022

June 23-26

ESCAS is pleased to announce that, now that the pandemic seems less of a threat, there will be a regional conference thanks to an agreement partnership with CESS (Central Eurasian Studies Society).

Indeed, CESS will hold its 7th Summer Conference in 2022 at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, jointly with ESCAS.

The conference will take place June 23-26 (on site and in-person).

We do hope that many of our colleagues will not feel discouraged to travel!

In order to increase the attractivity of this CESS-ESCAS joint event, organizers very much support the submission of non-traditional panel proposals, such as book-in-progress panels, author-critic book forums, thematic discussions, and roundtables.

Conference Host

The conference will be hosted by the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), located in the heart of Tashkent. The University was established in September 1992 and functions under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan. UWED has around 1,500 students, including undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to serving students from Uzbekistan, it also hosts foreign students from around the world.

UWED is a higher educational institution that provides training, retraining and advanced training for specialists and academic staff as well as conducts high-level fundamental and applied research in the following areas: International Economics and Management, International Relations and Political Science, International Public and Private Law, and Guiding and Interpreting. There are presently three academic departments at UWED: international Relations, international Economics and management, and International Law.

Please follow the guidelines established by CESS for various kinds of submissions
